Thinking of Insulating Your Home?
What does “R value” mean?
R value measures resistance to heat flow, the higher the R value the more the material insulates. For example: a house that has 13” of blown fiberglass insulation in the attic will have an R-38 versus one that has 16.50” will have an R-49. The R-38 will have more heat loss than the R-49.
What are fiberglass batts?
Fiberglass batts are made out of fiberglass strands woven together to form a blanket and then it is cut to a specific width and length to fit in the cavity between the studs of your walls or attic trusses.
