LEARN MORE

Lampert Lumber is the premier provider of lumber and building materials in Worthington. We have proudly served contractors and residents for over a century.

The city of Worthington, Minnesota spans over 8.74 square miles of both land and water and is home to over 12,000 residents. The city is located in southwest Nobles County.

Worthington was first settled in 1870 as a station in the Chicago and North Western Railroad. The passing trains would pick up water from the nearby Lake Okabena. The populous railway system brought in more and more settlers to the land at the time of the Homestead Act. Residents capitalized on the free land and began developing homes, schools and churches. From the 1890’s to the 1900’s the population grew over 105%.

Today, Worthington is home to many research companies and several manufacturing, processing and shipping companies. The city also takes pride in their school system and medical clinics that serve the entire city and others around it.

The city’s lake, Lake Okabena, is the center of pride for the city. Lake Okabena translates into “home of the heron” in Sioux. Many of its recreational activities and parks surround the lake. The Lake is now home to its own park called Sailboard Park, which is home to a yearly sailboard racing competition and music festival that brings in many residents from surrounding areas.
