Ice Dams and Your Home
How are Ice Dams formed?
This occurs when there is heat loss through the roof. This heat melts the snow on the roof which re-freezes at the roofs edge forming an ice dam.
How Ice Dams Are Removed
Remove all excess snow on the roof. Then sprinkle Urea Fertilizer on the ice dam. When this dam melts away you can run heat tape at the roofs edge.
